This is my first post for my new blog. It’s about living on a boat, moving from place to place, while trying to stay on top of a writing career. I’ll be sharing adventures, feelings, and day to day events that happen when your home is a 32-foot Nordic Tug called Sea Bear.
I’ll try to post something every week. But it won’t always be exciting. Right now Sea Bear is out of the water in Dog River Marina just west of Mobile Bay. There’s a lot to do to get a boat ready for a long cruise, so it will be there for about two months.
In March we start our newest “great adventure” cruising east from Mobile Bay, Alabama in the Intracoastal Waterway to Carabelle, Florida. Then we’ll make a long passage to Tarpon Springs where the waterway starts again. The trip will eventually take us around Florida to the East Coast and up coast as far as New York. There we’ll enter the Hudson River and finally reach the Great Lakes. The route will take us to Chicago and down a few of the middle U.S. rivers and back to Mobile. We expect it to take about six or seven months.
While doing all that, I’ll be editing my second book in the Love in Wine Country series for Entangled and starting work on several other writing projects.
Do I get seasick? Do I like boating? Is the cruising life exciting?
Check back next week to get installment two in Cruising with Pam. Or better yet, sign up for my blogposts and they’ll come to your email directly.
